Petite Afrique

This is a lovely walk that takes you through the town of Beaulieu and into several different kinds of nature trails.  It's a 3.4 km walk that takes about 2 hours and is considered to be "easy".  It starts from the West end of the Port at the Church on Rue Gallieni and the pedestrian streets, and ends back at the Port near the restaurants.

La Grande Corniche National Park

In the hills just above Eze Village there are three areas of National Park land.  Lots of wonderful walking opportunities and amazing views as you walk around the edge of the hills.  You can do a short trip or long one depending on what trail to choose.  Pack a picnic and get outside.

Parc D'Estienne d'Orves.

Hidden in Nice just North of the main train station is a great parc.  There is a kid's play park at the entrance and then you're hit head-on with nature as you enter the woods.  Once up the hill it all opens into beautiful open spaces.  Picnic tables and space to run await you at the end of your climb.

Tete de Chien

Up in La Turbie this rock mass overlooks Monaco and is the highest spot in the area.  It offers amazing views and is a lovely place to have a picnic.  Half way up the hill to La Turbie there is even a big level green space you can picnic in.  That is if you can find it.  As you make the turns going up you will see a little dirt turn of to a parking lot and there it will be.  Coming back down from the Tete you can see is more clearly, it's just after the model car race track.  Whether you find the hidden picnic area or not, the Tete itself is a lovely reason to get out of the house for an hour or two.

Directions:  Take the winding road up to La Turbie off the Moyenne Corniche West of Monaco, turn right just after the first buidings you see, go to the end of the road past the tennis club and park.
